The Dolphin Hotel is in the centre of the village on Fore Street.

Our 60 cover Restaurant is popular with guests, visitors and locals alike. We are renowned for our large portions of good home-cooked meals which our Chefs prepare daily to a fantastic standard and using only the best local produce available.

The Dolphin Hotel has 2 very popular Bars and each one has its own charm! We welcome children and dogs in both Bars (children until 9pm)

Our Lounge Bar is open from 10am - 3pm and again from 6pm-11pm (approx) and serves both a Bar Snack Menu and the A La Carte Menu during service times (12-2pm and 6-9pm)

The Long Bar is open from 10am - Late and serves its own Bar Snack Menu during service times (see above) it is equipped with facilities for Table Skittles, Darts, Pool, a digital Jukebox (updated fortnightly), Fruit Machine and Fat Spanner Open Quiz Machine.

On a Friday evening we serve our Winter Warmer Menu from 6-9pm and this consists of a meal (options change weekly - see whats on page) and a drink of your choice for just £6.

The Long Bar is also our entertainment venue where every Sunday afternoon from 3pm and every other Friday evening from 9pm we have regular live music playing.

The Anchor Inn, Beer

The Anchor Inn is just yards from the beach at the top of Sea Hill.

They serve a range of beers, including a choice of cask conditioned real ales, lagers and cider and also serve coffee and tea.

The beer garden is over the road and looks out over the beach and bay.

During fine weather this garden is always busy with people admiring the panoramic view whilst enjoying their food alfresco.

There is always a choice of freshly prepared food which can be eaten in either one of the three bars, the resturant or in the garden.The menus are varied or you can choose off the specials board.

Barrel O’ Beer

The Barrel O’ Beer is on Fore Street not far from the beach.

The Barrel o’ Beer is a Freehouse offering a choice of real ales such as Devon Glory from the award winning Exe Valley Brewery. They also serve London Pride, Timothy Taylor and Gale’s HSB. Guest ales from time to time.

This is now more of a resturant than a drinking pub, serving high quality food from its varied menu.

The Masons Arms, Branscombe

The Masons Arms is a ten minute stroll from Branscombe Beach in the lower part of the village.

The Inn’s unspoilt bar boasts ships beams, slate floors and stone walls – much as it would have been two hundred years ago. The huge central log fireplace is used to spit roast joints of meat several times a week.

Five real ales are always available and usually consist of several that are locally brewed by the Branscombe Vale Brewery together with a choice of lagers and cider.

The Masons Arms offer two different dining experiences. Firstly, the extensive Bar Menu accompanied by our daily specials, which has gained us the accolade from The Good Pub Guide as ‘Devon Dining Pub of the Year for 2002 & 2004. Secondly, they offer a fully waiter serviced, three course meal in their dining restaurant,

The Fountain Head, Branscombe

The 14th-century Fountain Head, Branscombe is at the top of the village and for those unfamilliar with the area, hard to find. It is however a gem of a traditional pub serving real ales and good food.

It has a log fire, a flagstone floor, a snug and welcoming interior, ample outside space and truly sublime Branoc ale from the local Branscombe Vale brewery.

There are outside tables where you can enjoy your meal, or if the weather is poor, you can eat inside by the open fire.


Going Out in Seaton and the Axe Valley.

    The country pubs in the villages of Axmouth, Branscombe, Colyford and Musbury are all well worth a visit, many are historic inns and they all serve good food and real ales.

    The pretty historic town of Colyton has a selection of pubs which can be enjoyed as part of a day out on one of the famous Seaton Trams.

    Live music can be found most weekends throughout the year with talented local musicians’ playing pub gigs to enthusiastic audiences.

    Country, Blues, Jazz, West Coast Rock, 60’s classics, 80’s pop and Rock and Roll can all be enjoyed whether you just want to listen with a drink or get up and dance.

    The Annual Beer Rhythm and Blues Festival in October is a must see 3 day event taking place at various venues around the village during the afternoons and evenings of the weekend and finishing in a monster jam session at the Beer Social Club.

    For those who want to get up and sing, karaoke nights can be found in various pubs on weekday evenings throughout the year.

    Live music is not just found in the coastal towns and villages, many of the country pubs and inns also put on live music in the afternoons and evenings at certain times of the year and it is well worth looking out for the signboards advertising the music in the axe valley countryside.

    Sidmouth Folk week from the 1stweek of August is also another event not to be missed.With dozens of musicians’ and bands playing at venues throughout Sidmouth as well as literally hundreds impromptu folk music sessions taking place in the pubs and bars and along the seafront the music goes on all week.

    As well as the musicians’ there are clog dancers, Morris men and traditional dancers as well as crafts and trade stands.

    There are friendly reliable Taxi services which cover Seaton and the surrounding area as well as further a field which can be booked to take you wherever you wish and to bring you back at a time you choose.
